Seventy years ago today, Allied Forces stormed the beaches at Normandy, France in what would become the beginning of the end of the Nazi and Fascist occupation of Europe. President Franklin Roosevelt took to the radio and led the nation in prayer for our troops. Here is that prayer.
Earlier this week we remembered the 25 anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre where Chinese troops killed many Chinese citizens who were protesting their totalitarian rule. Later this year we’ll remember the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall marking the end of the Cold War and the victory over communism. It is important to remember these anniversaries. We must not fail to protect the freedom the brave soldiers who stormed the beeches at Normandy fought and died to protect.
