FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Representative Buzz Brockway (R-Lawrenceville) To Seek Office Of Secretary of State.
(Lawrenceville) Representative Buzz Brockway announced today he will run for the office Secretary of State. For the past seven years Brockway has represented House District 102 covering parts of Lawrenceville and Suwanee. “I wish Secretary Kemp all the best as he seeks higher office. We're blessed with many outstanding leaders in Georgia and I'm glad to call Secretary Kemp my friend. ” Brockway said.
Thursday of this week will mark the end of the 2017 session of the Georgia Legislature. There are many bills left to consider, including HB 430 which I introduced. HB 430 passed out of the Senate Education Committee unanimously and will hopefully be voted on by the full Senate on Tuesday. Here is an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about it.
Here are a few measures of note that also passed this week:
The 2017 Legislative Session has only five Legislative days left and this week promises to be a busy one. Committees in the House and Senate have moved many pieces of Legislation to their respective Rules Committees for final approval before a floor vote.
Tuesday I made note of Pi Day with a lighthearted effort to tout the virtues of math.
There are a mere ten days left in the 2017 Legislative Session. The Capitol had calmed down a bit, but trust me, it's the calm before the storm. Senate Committees are working on bills we passed in the House, and House Committees are examining bills the Senate passed prior to "crossover day."
Thursday I was blessed to be able to bring my Pastor, Johnson Bowie, to deliver the devotional in the House. You can watch his remarks here.
