Reconciliation

There are plenty of people on social media making statements in anger, trying to score political points for their side, and demanding their viewpoint be implemented at the expense of others. It's become all about defeating the other side and advancing an agenda, but at what cost?

Where are the leaders who will put what's right ahead of what's best for them personally? Where are the political leaders who care more about the next generation than the next election?

We all have the right to protest, boycott, take a knee, turn off the TV, or whatever else folks feel compelled to do, but with the wrong motive in our heart, these things will only bring more division instead of reconciliation.

If we want our efforts to be successful, we must remember 2 Corinthians 5:18-18 which says: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."

If we're not seeking to reconcile people to each other and all of us to God, than our efforts will be in vain, and division and hatred will continue to spread across our country.
