SOS Candidate Buzz Brockway Praises Adoption Of HR744

Republican Candidate for Secretary of State Buzz Brockway praised the adoption of House Resolution 744, which calls on the Georgia Occupational Regulation Review Council (GORRC) to comply with current law and perform periodic reviews of existing occupational licenses meant to curb over-regulation, as required by existing law. HR 744 passed the Georgia State House unanimously today.

“The Georgia Occupational Regulation Review Council (GORRC) exists to help the Legislature make sure occupational licensing regulations do not present an unnecessary burden on license holders. As Secretary of State, I’ll make sure the Legislature is armed with the necessary information to properly regulate occupational licenses.” Brockway said. “To maintain our status as the best state in America to do business in, we must make sure occupational licenses protect the public from harm and fraud and are not keeping otherwise qualified people out of these jobs.”

Republican Buzz Brockway is currently running for Secretary of State. Buzz was first elected to the State House of Representatives in 2010. During his time in the State House, Buzz has been a strong advocate for cutting taxes and government red tape, helping to make Georgia the best state for business 5 years in a row.
