FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
State Representative Buzz Brockway (R-Lawrenceville) Comments On Signed Legislation.
(Lawrenceville) Representative Buzz Brockway commented on two bills he authored receiving Governor Nathan Deal’s signature today.
HB792 allows people over 18, or enrolled as a student at a public college, to carry a non-lethal stun gun on campus for personal protection.
Brockway: “I’m pleased Governor Deal signed HB792, the campus stun gun bill. As Cicero said, if our lives are endangered ‘any and every method of protecting ourselves is morally right.’ HB792 was offered with this right in mind and I hope those on Georgia’s public college campuses will avail themselves of of this new law and protect themselves from harm.”
HB676 requires Executive Branch agencies to develop a written plan when requesting information technology costing more than $1 million.
Brockway: “HB676 will improve implementation of large-scale information technology purchases by requiring a written plan before the purchase is approved. I feel strongly this bill will save taxpayers money and help Executive Branch agencies better implement new information technology.”
